Education is essential for the development of children so it’s sad to see that COVID-19 has caused school closures, directly affecting over 1.5 billion youth around the world.
Voting makes a difference and it’s important to educate people on how they can be more civically engaged. UNICEF encourages candidates to involve children in the civic process by sharing their Vision for Children.
UNICEF uses Halloween as a way to raise funds for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF which will go towards children around the world in need of things such as immunizations, education, and safe water or sanitation.
UNICEF celebrates World Children’s Day by advocating for children’s rights such as access to food, clean water and sanitation, gender equality, and quality education.
Children should be able to feel safe in their everyday environments including their home and school. However, not every child is fortunate enough to feel safe; in fact, every five minutes a child dies due to violence.

Worldwide, there are more girls than boys that lack in any education or training. UNICEF works to accelerate gender equality and address gender-specific discrimination through advocacy and other partnerships.
Water and sanitation related diseases are among the leading causes of death in children around the world. UNICEF works to bring safe water and hygiene education to the most vulnerable communities.
As climate change becomes an even bigger threat, many of the world's children are the ones to directly experience its negative effects. By recognizing children as agents of change and protecting them from environmental impacts, UNICEF works for a better world for our children.
UNICEF follows the UN's Sustainable Development Goals that promote prosperity while protecting the planet's natural environment. With sustainability in mind, these 17 goals are meant to address global challenges around the world like poverty, inequality, justice, and so on.
Children around the world are being uprooted and forced to migrate and flee their homes due to violence and environmental degradation. UNICEF works with families by creating safe spaces and providing supplies to ensure their health.
UNICEF focuses on ensuring childrens’ safety and protecting their rights during emergencies and humanitarian crises as children are especially vulnerable to harsh conditions. This is done by assisting in various areas like health, nutrition, education, etc.
